PineCone and the City of Raleigh will co-sponsor a showcase stage at the 2018 Folk Alliance Conference in Kansas City, MO in February. 

2018 North Carolina Heritage Award Recipients Announced

Six traditional artists from across the state will receive North Carolina Heritage Awards on May 23, 2018 for their contributions to our state’s cultural vitality: Asha Bala; Glenn & Lula Bolick; Arvil Freeman; Robert "Dick" Knight; and Tony Williamson. The Awards Ceremony will be held in Raleigh's Fletcher Theater as part of PineCone's Down Home Concerts.

The Grass Cats Say Farewell

After more than 20 years together, The Grass Cats will perform their final two concerts this month.

Scholarship Benefit Concert featuring Carolina Bluegrass Band

The Carolina Bluegrass Band, under the direction of Russell Johnson -- co-founder of Triangle-based bluegrass band The Grass Cats, and an award-winning singer, musician, and songwriter (and a longtime PineCone member!) -- will perform a fall concert on Nov. 30, and it will be a scholarship benefit for UNC-Chapel Hill.

The Bluegrass Situation and PineCone Present the Second Annual “Shout and Shine: A Celebration of Diversity in Bluegrass”

PineCone is teaming up with The Bluegrass Situation this year to sponsor the second annual "Shout & Shine: A Celebration of Diversity in Bluegrass" showcase during the International Bluegrass Music Association’s World of Bluegrass business conference. The showcase will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 26, from 10 p.m. - 1 a.m. at The Pour House Music Hall in downtown Raleigh.
