On Friday, May 5, at 7 p.m., they'll host a bluegrass jam on the Front Porch Stage, and on Saturday, May 6, at 2:15 p.m., they'll perform a set on the Cabaret Stage. Head to Shakori Hills this weekend and show your support for these young musicians, and enjoy the variety of music and dance opportunities at this local festival in Pittsboro. The Carolina PineCones are Sam Stage (fiddle), Natalie Mundorf (guitar), Jessie Lang (mandolin, guitar), Carter Ramquist (bass), and Aidan Buehler (mandolin). Local musician and music instructor Jef Walter is the band's mentor and coach.

Sam Stage and Jessie Lang, both veterans of the PineCone Bluegrass Jam Camps, both earned scholarships to great music/bluegrass camps this summer - Sam will be continuing his music studies at the Swannanoa Gathering, and Jessie will be attending the Kaufman Acoustic Kamp. We are very proud of ALL of the Carolina PineCones and their accomplishments!

The members of the Carolina PineCones met through the summer Jam Camps and year-round youth jams offered by PineCone. SPACE IS STILL AVAILABLE for this summer's Bluegrass Jam Camp (July 17-21), which will take place in Cary. Jam camp students learn jam etiquette, back-up, lead, harmony, and improvisation. The camp is recommended for intermediate fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, and upright bass students looking to take their bluegrass music to the next level while learning to jam with others.
